David Harriman is an international award-winning photographer shooting campaigns for clients that include Nike, Wonderbra, Lynx and Cisco Systems.
I have managed David’s website since 2007. For the original website we wanted the photographs to use as much of the user’s browser as possible, transition smoothly between different view states, support all browser/OS combinations, and use non-OS-native fonts. The obvious choice back then was to develop the interface using Actionscript for Flash.
Moving forward to 2011, the site now uses Javascript libraries instead of Flash and includes various view states, social media sharing and hosted webfonts. David can also easily manage large photograph collections through drag and drop using my very own MassDigital content management system.
A stripped-back mobile version is served to mobile devices; a feature-rich mobile version will be added once the budget becomes available.
All code is optimised and we followed best practices stated in Google’s page speed guidelines.
Hosted webfonts ensure brand consistency.
